A little bit about the brands:

BAKED by Central Fire Station

If Baked by Central Fire Station isn’t on your radar yet, now’s the time to add it! This stylish little hole-in-the-wall, nestled next to the Fire Station Restaurant on Tennyson St, Napier, looks like it belongs in the hustle and bustle of Sydney’s CBD—and once you try their pastries and bread, you’ll see why! They bake some of the best sourdough and focaccia you’ll ever taste, and don’t even get us started on their cakes and pastries… Here are a few of our favorites:

  • The cookies (all of them!)
  • The tarts—absolute must-tries!
  • Roast Beef & Truffle Sandwich
  • Sourdough & focaccia bread
  • And of course, their ginger and dark chocolate hot cross buns

Open Friday to Monday, this little gem is one you’ll want to keep in your regular weekend rotation.

CHATEAU GARAGE

Sophia and India and very photogenic pooch, Bruno,

Chateau Garage is a beautiful small-batch wine project by Ollie Powrie, former Head Viticulturist for Villa Maria, and his wife, Rebecca. It’s a true family affair—daughters Sophia and India have been part of the winemaking process since they were old enough to foot stomp and press grapes, while their loyal pup Bruno is a regular fixture in the winery.

Lulu Rosé is a real highlight of their range - for the second year running their Lulu Rosé has been named in the top ten rosés of NZ by Stephen Wong, Master Sommelier. A seductive blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Fresia, Marzemino, and Teroldego, wild-fermented in barrels, it boasts vibrant tasting notes of wild orchard fruits, blood orange, and delicate floral aromas, perfectly balanced with a crisp, dry finish.

Their wines are everything you’d expect—crafted with passion and precision. If you’re on the hunt for a new drop, we highly recommend giving them a try!
